Really awesome cover of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” by Austin band, Tiger Waves.

If you live in Austin, you should come to the Brixton Friday night for a watch party of the two latest TXRD bouts. Holy Rollers vs. las Putas del Fuego at 9pm followed by All Scar Army vs. Rhinestone Cowgirls at 10.

IT’LL BE REALLY FUN! THIS SHOW IS LIKE MY CHILD! Come hang with the producer (me), director (me), and editor (me) and hopefully some awesome rollergirls and the hosts La Muerta and Mighty Aphrodite.

26 January 12

Look at this promo I made for the new TXRD season!

First bout is on Sunday and if you live in Austin you’ll be able to watch the whole season on TV (finally!) if you have Grande Communications starting February 17th!

Loved that post because the ending is like “Fuck Wendy’s, go to Hopdoddy.” WORD. Hopdoddy for life.

Lucero, 2009 Austin TX

I was at this show! I’m pretty sure I was at least (sxsw…so much booze). I think this was the night I saw them with Dave from KCMO, then we went across the street to see Beach House and got kicked out because I fell asleep while cuddling on him. One of my favorite sx stories.

I got to meet one of my favorite tumblies this weekend! We went to Shangri-la and hung out in a teepee.

I don’t remember this photo! Great times!!!
Bah. Austin, you are so cool and fun. As the above suggests, we met up with Sarah, Aka  company, and she took us to the actually-cool parts of Austin that were not as bro-tastic as 6th street. I proceeded, after a fine Argentinian steak dinner date with Ms. Bell, to get obliterated and chat chatty chat chat chat my face off to strangers and new friends. We walked forEVER to get to these lovely gents’ home, which had a killer authentic teepee in the backyard. More substances. More stumbling, and some slight hallucinations, ending with me sitting in gravel made of broken glass at a stop sign filling my purse pockets with the stuff because it sparkled, and therefore, was “treasure” in my distorted mind.
Sara prodded me back home where, by some miracle, I arrived with all of my belongings in tact and a bonus of about a pound of glass gravel in my purse. My dignity was still in the teepee where I left it.
I also tried to give away my favorite pair of shoes because Sarah’s friend like them so darn much and they were only $20, so it seemed logical that she should have them because they made her so happy. She was touched by the gesture, but returned them the next day at brunch.
Anyway, we met some truly quality people in this town. We were both just gob-smacked by how nice everyone was to us, how nice and friendly everyone seemed to be like, all the time. Everyone wanted to chat. Everyone wanted to tell us their Austin story.
It was great. If I found a group that wanted to move down and bum around here for a couple of years, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

I just had to reblog this for the story of ~our night together~ and the “URL to IRL” tag. Quality.

If anybody is looking for a way to help fellow Austinites out during this crazy period, here’s something that’s happening tomorrow morning at 10am.  Taken from the FB of Matt Bearden [Comedian/Co-Host of the Dudley & Bob Show]:

For those of you in Austin:

As BummerFires™2011 continues to eff up our fair city, it’s really up to those of us who are sitting pretty to help those in need. The Dudley & Bob show staff will be collecting needed goods and supplies just after air tomorrow [9/6/2011]. Dale Dudley has secured a truck; now we just need to load it. ITEMS STILL NEEDED:

Water
Gatorade
Non perishable snack - ( wrapped items especially protein bars and nuts)
Heavy duty trash bags
Work gloves
Toiletries
Towels
Sunscreen
Flashlights with batteries
Pet food

If you can help, please, please, please do.

I was able to see the smoke from Steiner Ranch today at work… so unsettling.

This fire is burning in/around Bastrop (near Austin). Over 14,000 acres burned so far, over 300 homes lost. One neighborhood is described as “wiped out” with no structures remaining.
This is only one of about 7 major fires burning in the Austin area right now.

Shit is crazy right now, mang.

damn. :(
